thanksgiving in pictures

i'll have some good stories from the day another time. but i just spent the day shopping and returning so i'm pooped and i still have to clean the house. enjoy!

yep... this is the best one. i was one of four cameras vying for their attention. ava didn't smile in any of my pics. it's like looking back at nicole 22 years ago. freaky. but at least ava doesn't scowl. sorry nic, but we all remember the 'v' forehead.

david's home!

besides some mashed potatoes at lunch.... this was pretty much what connor ate all day... junk food. he was loving life.

i'm surprised liela wasn't snarfing on a cheese puff. isn't she getting so big?

the master chef taking a well deserved break.

slave chef laura pretending she didn't want her picture taken while she was mashing 15 lbs. of mashed potatoes. she put on quite a spread helping gramma this year. with the minor faux pas of forgetting the cheese sauce.... we'll let that one slide b/c of the chocolate fountain and fun stuff to dip in it.

all that cooking power went to laura's head, so aunt elaine scared her back into submission with the knife. (aunt elaine is going to kill me, but this pic was hilarious and we were sort of giddy so i'm hoping that won't get me killed. :)

see? happy chef laura.

happy birthday to david! his birthday isn't until 12.3 but he's going back to school so we sang to him.

he brought two buddies down from nbbc.... micah and greg. greg is the one pretty much under david, which can't be comfortable.

ava enjoying a marshmallow from under the chocolate fountain.

remember when i said gramma's arm was fine? umm.....

i'm not 100% sure it's broken, but it's definitely messed up. sorry for laughing gramma. :)

he just HAD to go outside and play golf with josh.

yes, that's not a hallucination. uncle paul washes dishes.

we've entered the big cheese phase

once connor saw the soccer ball he pretty much lost interest in bowling. he played with micah and greg most of the time.

not to shabby lefty style. i guess all that left handed practice paid off... of course, that was just in case she had a stroke but whatever....

doesn't she look grown up in this picture?

yep, that's her mom!

mom! how embarrassing!! man, my family's weird.

greg had to go rescue a ball.... i missed the first rescue b/c my camera wasn't ready. ava's ball didn't quite make it and mike walked down.

i tried to get a pic of him sleeping, but he caught me and stuck out his dorko tongue.

just waiting for her next turn.

thanks, grampa!

he won it at the claw game on the first try! yahoo!

driving with laura was better than bowling too. :)

my shoes... aren't they stunning? thanks, mike, for the photo unbeknownst to me.

connor was pretty good... with a lot of help.

playing apples to apples. it was a fun game, but it got ugly. i was with connor b/c he was pretty tired, but all i could hear was chanting and yelling. it was pretty funny.

a lovely dorrito dinner with derek.

Just out of curiosity, which one was the master chef? Your Grandma or Nicole? I guess it would depend on who was eating. :) Just thought the caption was appropriate. :)

We played Apples to Apples a lot, too! It gets crazy sometimes!

Looks like a great time! I can't believe how "Sherf-y" Liela looks - and yet how much she's a mini Ava - who is a mini Nicole - oh well, you get the idea!

BTW - QUITE impressed at your having a chocolate fountain - all we got was fudge! ha ha

susan-
yeah, nicole is a good cook, but that race has been clearly won. :)

brenda-
i had never played before. it was a good one for sure.

yes, liela is VERY appropriately named 'liela michal'. ava has been calling her 'little mike' lately and we all say it all the time. she's a TOTAL sherf!

and yes, the fountain was delightful. hmm.... fudge is sounding really good right now. great. thanks. :)
