i was downstairs starting a load of laundry. my normal routine is to give connor something to do or play with so he doesn't try to come down after me. the basement is under construction so it's just easier if he stays upstairs for quick trips like laundry. austin, collin and hope recently gave connor some of their old toys and books. one of them was a ginormous mountain by little tykes. it has little trails going down the mountain for matchbox cars. they go flying across the living room and he giggles with delight. before i left with my load i said, "connor, i'll be right back. you play cars and i'll be back in just a minute."
so i'm down there for a few minutes and i hear, "mommy! i standing!! mommy! mommy! i standing." so i yell back, "just a second connor. i'll come see in a minute." oh, great what's he "standing" on? probably the kitchen table. maybe the back of the couch. perhaps he made it up to the top of the fridge? who knows, i was just preparing myself for the thud and a quick trip to the er. then i hear a long quiet. this usually means he's up to no good. so i listen closely.... then i hear a slight tapping. almost like he was pounding the mountain like a drum...which he does. i didn't want to startle him out of quiet playing (those moments are so rare and precious!) so i sneaked upstairs and popped my head around the corner. there's connor waiting patiently.....what? he was waiting??? patiently??? he had pulled the top off the mountain revealing the storage space, climbed up to the top sat down and got his little butt stuck.
"mommy. i standing."
"actually, connor, you're not standing. you're trying to stand, but you can't b/c you're stuck."
"oh..... i stuck."
while i was snapping this picture he managed to wriggle his tiny hiney out and got down off the mountain.

How cute is that!
Pretty darn cute! Looks like a great toy - I love the ones that really keep them occupied. Oddly enough, the majority of Luke's toys don't interest him for long. Maybe a baby brother will keep him interested. Interested in experimenting with hitting, pinching and other sorts of shenanigans, I'm sure.
I cannot believe how big he is getting!! Oh, my word, it just seems like yesterday is was crawling after you. He is so adorable. Very cute toy and I'm sure he loves watching those cars go down fast.
Love,
