wicked crazy busy.

the little man and i put on our superhero capes this weekend and flew all over town. we were out of pretty much everything food-wise, so i plotted and schemed to get the car from nathan friday so i could make a sam's run. the only problem was....i couldn't find my sam's card. nathan came back from the chiropractor to pick us up and i was still searching. i am a freak about keeping my wallet in one of two places, and i am usually positive on where certain things are. my wallet is one of them. how in the world could it NOT be here? boy am i losing it. so i started looking in weird places...pockets, drawers, anywhere i could think of. it was nowehere to be found. so nathan just gave me his card and i planned to go stealth mode with it. worked like a charm. when you check out at sam's the worker will normally read your card and thank you by name....you should have seen the lady's face when she read "nathan" and then looked up at me. it was pretty funny, and she just laughed when i told her it was my husband's. (btw--saturday night my sister told me she still had my sam's card from when she borrowed it b/c hers was lost....HA! so i'm not going crazy)

after that, we hit taco smell drive thru and took some nachos over for lunch with nic and av. by then it was snappy nappy time for the little man and that gave me enough time to put away the meat from sam's and clean the disaster i like to call my kitchen. phew. about five minutes to relax and then it was time to go get daddy from work. he had to be picked up a little early b/c of vb districts. the girls did good, but in the end they lost to roeper. i will say they played better against them in districts than they did in regular season. they had lost six straight during regular season games, and this time they took 'em to game 5.

saturday was busier still. i went to krogers before connor got up (he slept in big time). normally i despise krogers, but i just wanted this to be a quick trip and it's closer than meijers. i had to get a few small things that i don't like to buy in bulk. i was also looking for cherry cordial ice cream. this proved to be more difficult than it should have been. we were planning on having my mom and aunt claudia's b-day dinner on sunday and they both like that kind of ice cream. i looked EVERYWHERE and i couldn't find that ice cream. i called my mom to try and find out what brand it was....no answer. called gramma....no answer. alrighty. finally, i gave up and just checked out. i get out to the car and realize i forgot to give the cashier my bottle return slip. i decided to unpack my groceries and go back in with my bottle slip. i haven't been to krogers in a long time and i don't plan to go back soon. it smells, the floor's sticky, the produce stinks, and i don't appreciate the fact that i can't buy things on sale without "the man" knowing what i'm purchasing.

i got home in time to pick up nathan and the little man b/c we had planned to go to target and bed, bath and beyond. when i got there nathan decided to go work on the basement instead so i took connor with me. what a delight to my eyes when i got home the basement was organized and cleaned. we are well on our way to a play room thanks to nathan's hard work and building skills. nap time yet again for the little man, and i was off to meijers in search of cherry cordial ice cream. when i got home connor was still awake in his bed....very unusual. at first, i thought he just wasn't tired yet b/c he had slept in so late. then i thought maybe he had a stinky diaper b/c if he gets one he won't fall asleep. so i checked him...nope. i really hoped i wouldn't have to go in b/c when someone comes in at naptime he gets wound up again. this time he thought it would be funny to throw his blanket out of his crib. not cool, dude. i told him no and left. a little while later i could tell he was winding down, but he was whimpering. so i pulled out some james "mom" moves. i got my compact and stuck it under the door so i could see his crib. he was sitting up looking through the bars for his lost love....blankie boy was on the floor and he was really wishing he hadn't thrown him out. i had a blankie out in the hall with me, but i didn't want him to see me or realize i was giving him a blankie....but without it he would have had a horrid time falling asleep. all of a sudden connor got into a push-up stance and dropped his head. i cracked open the door and flung his blankie into the corner of his crib....what a shot! he heard it whiz past his head but i could tell he didn't see it at first. as i watched with my spy vision, he finally spotted the visitor and crawled over to it. blankie in hand, thumb in mouth, down for the count. what a mom move! i loved it! :)

after nap it was off to grampa and granny b's for our free food saturday and my mom's first b-day party. quite a weekend. oh, and yes, i did find cherry cordial ice cream at meijers. and since i had told my gramma i would make a "cake" for my mom and aunt claudia, i shaped the ice cream into two wax paper lined bowls the night before and then made a pseudo cake for their sunday lunch birthday cake. it actually looked kind of cool, but it was melting pretty fast under all those candles...sorry girls, but there were quite a few. (tee hee hee!)

since i was doing so much running around i put the little man to work

you missed a spot
