full house

well, for those that were wondering....connor is doing much much better than sunday. he was quite a bit better on monday and has done better since. his cough is contained to late evening when daddy comes home to play "chase". go figure he gets out of breath and starts wheezing. i had that pesky sore throat for a few days and monday night everything exploded. aches, sniffles, congested, you name it. so the house looked like a tornado hit all tuesday. i was a total bum. but i HAD to run to sams. after nathan got home from practice i bolted. sams usually closes at 8:30 and it was 7:45. i should have guessed they would have extended holiday hours, but i didn't know until i was checking out at 8:20. yeah, that's right i made a sams run in 15 minutes. i SO wanted to try click and pull as told by brenda, but b/c of nathan's schedule i wasn't sure of an exact time when i could schedule a pick up. no biggie. i only had a few things.....diapers were the most desperate. nathan had offered to go monday night, but practice ran late and i thought sams would be closed by the time he got there. if i would have known about their extended hours i would have shoved him out the door anyway. it's cold out there. i didn't want to go. :) but i knew he needed some study time and since i was feeling better i figured i couldn't milk it anymore. aw, nuts.

connor has been scooting around pushing this little stool that aunt tina handed down to us. he pushes it until it gets stuck, usually on the couch or against a wall. so last night, connor discovered that if he pushes it against the couch he can use it to step up on the couch. good grief! one more thing wild man can do now. usually, he just comes over when someone is on the couch and begs, "up, pweeee" which being translated means, "mother/father, may i please join you on the sitting apparatus?" last night he was playing with my old stuffed puppies dragging them around saying, "puppy! puppy!" i'm not sure if he knows what he's saying, but he has gotten duck and puppy right on some pop quizzes lately.

well, today started out normal ...partly.....the house usually isn't as hiddeous as it was this morning. there were big boxes from sams scattered through the living room and dinner was still out from last night. (i didn't even eat until 9!) i hate starting out behind, but last night i could've cared less. i was so tired.

so i was babysitting the girls (my normal gig) and at about 10 nic calls and says, "i have a dr. appt. in 15 minutes that i forgot about!! can you watch ava?" sure. bring it on. so we had quite a busy morning here. all i could think was, "how does carissa do this? how does adrianna do this? how does christy do this?" crazy times i tell ya. the girls are getting into movies more so they'll sit and watch, but connor and ava could care less. so they were back and forth from connor's room to the living room scattering toys everywhere. well, i couldn't watch another minute of strawberry shortcake (the girls usually bring favorite movies for naptime) so i put in music man and sang at the top of my lungs. it seemed to stun the youngsters just enough to make them quiet down for a few minutes. and they all seemed to like the music during lunch. it actually was nice for connor to have someone to play with. the girls are really good with him, but they want to play pretend and he just wants to eat stuff. quite a volatile mix.

and now, it's naptime. the girls are watching charlie brown christmas, and i'm thinking about doing some laundry......nah! maybe i'll just chill for a few. this much i can tell you.....it's pizza night. definitely pizza night.

here's my pushing stool.

see? mom puts snacks on it for me. i'm into granola lately b/c i'm in training for next year's turkey trot.

WHAT? GIRLS ARE COMING OVER???? girls, girls, girls, that's all i get to play with. when's bastian coming back, huh? all i'm asking is for a boy. is that really too much to ask?

well, i guess ava's fun. for a girl.

grilled cheese stuffed mouths usually can't make too much noise. :) and a video in front helps too.
