ok, i know i'm totally biased.....but connor looked SO cute in his church clothes yesterday. he is looking so grown up lately. and even though he looked super cute, he still had a rough day. he's had a snuffle, so i was just praying that it would be better b/c i've missed out on tons of church. if he's not sick i'm in nursery....you know the story. i'm beginning to side with my parents premise: kids should be placed in a small box with a hole for feeding. after they turn 18, plug the hole. i know they were only joking (i think) and they would only say it when we were driving them crazy (daily, as i recall). it just seems that the box idea would be much easier. no germs, no mean people, no spankings.....though this idea is fundamentally flawed, i'd say it's got some perks (at times). i just feel bad for him when he gets sick....ok, down deep i feel bad for me too. partly b/c i know it's gonna be a rough couple of days, and party b/c i know i'll get it too.
the poor little guy has been CLINGING to daddy. i think he thinks that at any moment dad will go off again and leave him with the crazy lady...being me. :) after church we called up my parents....for free food, of course....and jetted over there for lunch. connor didn't sleep in nursery so i knew he would be ready for a nap SOON. he was crabby through lunch, hardly ate, and then was crabby while we got him down. so i said, "ok naptime!". he freaked. my mom put him in the pack-n-play, and he started crying and crying. so we left him in there for a few....even though that is SO not normal. he is such a good "go to bed" baby. when you give him a blankie he calms down and sucks his thumb. he just knows that's what you do. well, something was really ruffling his feathers. i tried to cuddle him for a while.....nothing. nathan tried to cuddle him for a while.....nothing.....oh, wait....he puked. yep! all over nathan's arm. it smelled as bad as ava's garlic bread and ice cream incident. not cool. after that his breath was kickin' like bruce lee.
so nathan took the little man home to clean up and get him in his own bed so he'd calm down. and i hit crafts 2000 with my mom. i got a great idea for my "blog book". i've been wanting to print out the pages into a book format. i thought about getting some cool paper, but i'd need so much and i didn't want to pay that much for it. so i got some stamps and decided to make my own cool paper. i got some geometric shape stamps and started "printing" my paper last night. i think it will work. it's going to be a big project though.
so ava......
due to a domino effect involving musical pack-n-plays, thanksgiving and 1/3 sherflets, my pack-n-play was at mike's parents house. so i called to borrow ava's. nic and av are sick. which is why they didn't go to church lunch or out to my parents.....anywho....i went over to get it and when i knocked on the door, i could hear ava freaking out! she was so excited. squealing even. OOOO OOOOO OOOO TISSY! TISSY! HI! HI! HI! (she calls me tissy....which is better than fishy, which one of my cousins called me for a short while. yeah, i've had a lot of nicknames WARNING: FAMILY -- YOU DO NOT NEED TO EXPOUND!). so ava showed me her tree.....GINORMOUS! it's so cute. it makes mine look even more charlie brownish. nic told me that ava was leaning into it the other day to smell something (she's a unique one year old) and she fell in face first. nic comes in to find her smooshed up in the base of the tree, squishing her face to protect from needles, and trying so desperately to get out. hilarious!
last night i had a pretty sore throat and nathan went out at 10 pm and got me some tea and honey. what a sweet pea.
oh, yeah!! here's something weird......the other day out of nowhere a mole (so we thought) appeared on connor's neck. yesterday, it fell off! i think it was a scab personally, but the jury's still out.

dad, i'm having a rough morning. can't we do pictures later? i know i look stunning, but please?
he just looks so grown up and big. nicole, the sled is YOUR present!! and you will all note my tree skirt is my maasai blanket from tanzania and if you look in between the two candy canes above connor's head you'll see my all time fave ornament. it's my praying mouse that mrs. brinkman made for me when i went to dearborn bible in her 3-yr-old sunday school class.

silent night! holy night!
doesn't it look like they're singing?

LOVE the argyle sweater, Connor! I'm partial to little baby girl dresses but Connor is changing my mind with his slick sweater vest. :) Is he feeling any better today?
You also have great taste in wrapping paper. We must both shop at Tarjay.
The puking only gets better with three kids. We actually have buckets that we bought for those special occasions. They are especially handy if you have bunk beds and the kid on the bottom bunk doesn't like raining vomit.
Oh yeah. Fun times at 3 in the morning.
HOpe the Conn man feels better soon :( it is no fun being sick...poor guy.
alicia and ces-
the little man is doing better. which was good b/c i was babysitting yesterday. he chased the girls from room to room and had a blast terrorizing them.
julie-
tarjay all the way!
