i can't believe it. but i did it. ptl. i have finished my list. well, let me qualify....the lawn fertilizer did not get done. seems i have to wait a day b/c i misread the directions. but that will probably take all of ten minutes, so i wasn't too disappointed.
stinker pants and i went on a delightful walk to the mailbox by way of uncle mike and auntie nic's. on the way i noticed something that reminded me of a story i wanted to tell before the family cabin post.
did you ever see steel magnolias? in case there are a few lost in the mix i shall describe......
in the opening minutes of the movie, you see a family getting a house ready for what will obviously be a fabulous southern wedding. chaos reigns...of course, as with so many wedding movies. and one of the possibly atrocious issues being resolved is a huge swarm of birds in a tree in the family's yard. these squawking feathered beasts just won't go away. the father and brothers are told that they must get those birds out of that tree. so they send up a series of gunshots, and other projectiles, culminating with an arrow full of explosives being shot into the tree. the birds go away, and the father is temporarily hard of hearing on the day of the event. hilarious. until you live it.
as i speak, a flock of blacked winged irritants occupy my neighbors tree. what i wouldn't give for a cross bow full of fireworks! i must have pulled 15-20 feathers from my yard today. and as i walked to the mailbox i noticed that many lawns were littered with black feathers. i hope they move on soon.
anyone have the number for animal control?

We had that happen one time in Minnesota - - - it was hysterical because at about 6:30 every night, we, along with the whole rest of the neighborhood, without planning it, suddenly appeared on our decks, clanging together pots and pans, hitting aluminum pie pans with wooden spoons, or clapping together tennis shoes - - - but even all the clanging was less annoying than those annoying, dirty birds!!!
oh, that would be hilarious. i haven't seen anyone out yet, but if they stay for a while maybe i will. :)
