- ripped out the orange shag carpet THROUGHOUT the house. yeah, that was the one reason i didn't want to buy it. (good thing we knew the hard wood was nice underneath)
- gutted the entire kitchen and replaced everything, counters, cabinets, sink, flooring, etc.
- replaced light fixtures
- refinished the wood floors (huge task--i had to go away for the weekend b/c i was pregnant and couldn't deal with the fumes)
- updated the bathroom sink
- totally did connor's room on his own
- refinished the office
- painted everything (including picking out the paint colors...that's right....he's just good at it that's why i let him)
- ripped out the hiddeous bushes in the front and back yard
- fixed the bad cement in the back yard
- tiled the entryway
- fixed up the bathroom in the basement (almost finished)
- built up my flower bed
- ripped out the old porch
but i'm just proud of him for the work he has done to make our house nicer. he sees it as an investment and i know that's why he does such a good job. little by little, b/c it's not cheap. but after two years it's really starting to take shape.

The flower bed looks great - - or at least it will once the flowers are in it! Pretty impressive work!
I still can't get used to seeing your house without the awning - I looked at the pics and thought you had moved. :)
i know, it is going to take me forever to get used to it. hiddeous as it was i rather liked the ol' fella. someday, nathan plans to reside the front window, and replace the window...so maybe that will help.
Wow, he really has done a lot of work! Isn't it nice to have a husband who knows how to do all of those things? I thank the Lord that my husband knows how to fix just about everything, just like my dad! Your house looks great! And I am sure the financial profit will be great once you sell it (if those are your plans.)

it is WAY NICE to have a handy man. my parents are both handy so i knew how to fix lots of things already, but it's really nice that i don't have to b/c nathan is such a fix it fanatic. he wants everyting to look sharp. and yes, kelli, we hope to gain a proffit from selling. of course, that seems like a far off dream at times. :) especially with the real estate market around here.
3 cheers for our handy husbands! Mine, who is thisclose to finishing his degree, is chomping at the bit to get at his endless list of summer projects. I can't wait! What a blessing.
Good Job Son!! Like Father, like Son and we're so proud of the work you did for your family. You always wanted to help out your Dad, and it looks like Connor is starting that same path.
